No, seriously…
It's been a little more than an hour and a half since a fire broke out in the Memorial Union, and I still can't focus enough to get any work done.
I just keep thinking about how I wish I worked for still worked for the daily so that I could cover stuff like this or tell reporters in my charge to cover stuff like this.
Spot news is what keeps the blood running through my veins.
I'm beginning to get the sense that special sections, magazine stories and in-depth features are really just things that only tide me over until the next big story breaks. Sadly, though, this semester those things are all I've got, and when spot news happens, all I can do is stay out of the way.
